The driver has been transported to hospital with unspecified injuries

The driver of a vehicle narrowly escaped before the vehicle tumbled down a steep embankment on Cosens Bay Road Sunday.

Emergency crews responded to an area near Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park in Coldstream on around 11:30 a.m. on April 18.

Witnesses told Black Press Media the car’s driver escaped the smoking wreckage.

Vernon North Okanagan RCMP said the driver and lone occupant managed to climb up the embankment and was given a ride to the hospital by a friend travelling in another vehicle.

The motorist sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Coldstream Fire Department was on hand to ensure there was no fire threat as a result of the collision.

A witness said the fire was out when she spotted the car.

Tow trucks were also on scene to remove the vehicle.
