Canada’s coast-to-coast fiddling marvel is coming back to Golden for a show at St. Andrew’s United Church next week.
Scott Woods has been to the community many times, in fact he has been on tour in Western Canada more than 35 times. And he is excited to come back with a brand new show.
“A lot of our venues are the same, and we’re very aware of that on the road. I often see a lot of the same faces,” said Woods. “So we always make sure there’s something new. There’s nothing worse than seeing an act years apart and they have the same shtick.”
He is bringing with him The Twin Fiddle Express, which includes his sister Kendra (Woods) Norris, a multi-instrumentalist, and certainly no stranger to the old-time fiddling fans have come to expect from the Woods family.
Joining them will be Canadian Country Music Award Winner and Guitar Player of the Year, Steve Piticco; Bass Player, Step Dancer and Vocalist, 18-year-old Patrick Linton and keeping the band in time is drummer / vocalist Bill Carruthers.
This uplifting two-hour Branson-style live show celebrates the wonderful sound of two fiddles played sweetly in harmony – with lots of Traditional Country, Western Swing, Country Gospel and Old Time Fiddle tunes. You might even recognize a few Johnny Cash classics in there.
And as always, you can enjoy sensational step dancing, wholesome family humour and Wood’s famous trick fiddling – somersaults and walking on a barrel – all while playing his fiddle.
The show is on Friday May 25 at 7 p.m. Tickets will be available at French Connection or by calling Michele at 250-344-6117.
