A night at the opera is not as far away as you may think

The Golden Cinema will be showing five live shows from the world famous Metropolitan Opera in New York.

For lovers of the Opera, the Golden Cinema is bringing the Met to you with five shows to be shown at the theatre.

Performances will be shown via satellite, from the world famous Metropolitan Opera in New York. The shows will be shown here in Golden in High Definition. The five-show series will kick off on Oct. 29 at 10:55 a.m. with Don Giovanni. Doors will open 30 minutes prior to the start of the opera, during which there will be a special opera pre-show on the screen.

The running time for the opera will be three hours, 55 minutes during which there will be an interval.

Featured during the breaks viewers will get behind the scenes views and interviews on the screen.

Principal Conductor Fabio Luisi leads Tony Award-winning director Michael Grandage’s new production, featuring an all-star cast of refined Mozartians that includes Marina Rebeka, Barbara Frittoli, Isabel Leonard, Matthew Polenzani, Ramón Vargas, Peter Mattei, Mariusz Kwiecien, Gerald Finley, Luca Pisaroni, and John Relyea.

Over the next few months the cinema will be showing four more perfomances. On  December 3 Rodelinda will be showing, Faust on December 10, and April 7 will see Manon with the last show being La Traviatta. For more information go to www.kickinghorsemovies.com
