The bacon fundraiser returns, raising money for Interact

Don’t go bacon my heart, the Interact Club of Golden is selling 11 lb. boxes once again, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

The sale is surely something to squeal about, and acts as one of the club’s annual fundraisers for their projects and trips.

“Our fundraising money is for leadership training and travel and community events to pay for some of the things the Interact Club does, and possibly in the future, an Interact trip,” Interactor Kyle Frasca said.

This year, the bacon is selling quickly, but there is still some time to purchase.

Hurry to get your order in before February 16 by heading over to their Facebook page at Interact Club of Golden, by getting in contact with an Interactor, or e-mail interact.club.golden.bc@gmail.com.

“It was a pretty big hit,” Frasca said about the fundraiser, which the club hosted last year for the first time.

The bacon will be available to pick up at Golden Secondary School on March 1 and 2.

Maple smoked bacon comes in 11 lb. boxes.

You can hog it all to yourself, or you can split the box with a family member or friend.

The bacon comes packaged in 11 lb cardboard boxes, and the company from Calgary only offers the one flavour.

The bacon will be transported frozen to Golden, where buyers can pick it up.

All of the bacon is individually sliced, and is quite delicious, says Frasca.

“It’s pretty local, and it’s definitely Canadian,” Frasca said. “I’ve heard it’s really good bacon.”
