McDonalds is getting ready for their longest running fundraising event. May 11 will bring the 18th annual McHappy Day.
McHappy Day is a fundraising event that is dedicated to raising funds for Ronald McDonald Houses as well as local Children’s Charities across the country. Golden is always very enthusiastic about McHappy Day and this year is no different.
This year, Golden McDonalds has decided to focus its fundraising towards the Calgary Ronald McDonald House.
The Ronald McDonald House is a place that allows families to stay while their kids receive treatment in local Children’s Hospitals. It allows families to stay close to their children for a nominal fee and works hard to provide a “home-away-from-home”. There are twelve Ronald McDonald Houses across Canada with two more being added this year.
Golden’s McDonalds has a goal of raising 10,000 dollars for the Charity.
“The biggest reason we usually choose the Ronald McDonald House in Calgary is because a lot of families from Golden use it,” says Dan Lindsay, Golden’s McDonalds Manager.
This year, Golden will have a business card board where businesses and individuals can pay to have their business card on display. There are three levels people can choose; Bronze, which is between one dollar to 25 dollars, Silver which is 25-50 dollars and Gold which is above 50 dollars.
McDonalds will also be hosting a car wash on May 8. Employees will be ready with buckets and rags in hand and washings are by donation.
Golden will be finishing off the festivities with McHappy Day on May 11 when one dollar from any size coffee or tea, Big Mac or Happy Meal will be donated directly towards the grad total.
