Debt clock stops in Golden.

A clock on wheels (seen here in front of Town Hall with Gregory Thomas, BC Communications Director for the Canadian Taxpayers Federation) that displays Canada’s debt rolled through Golden at the end of February. The National Debt Clock—a CanadianTaxpayers Federation initiative— left Mile 0 of the Trans-Canada Highway in Victoria, British Columbia on February 22 and is expected to arrive in Halifax, Nova Scotia the last week of March. The large clock displays both the per second increase in public debt and the per person figure. The 2011 tour sets out to create public awareness, elevate the importance of balanced budgets as a public policy priority and provide a means for the public to engage lawmakers.
