The Golden Rockets had a tough start to the playoffs with a 6-1 loss to the Fernie Ghostriders on Friday Feb. 24.

The Rockets were outshot 16-6 in the first period, but held the score at 1-0 after a power play goal from Fernie's Dylan Robertson.

The Ghostriders strengthened their lead in the second period with goals from Connor McLaughlin and Stefan Seel, putting them up by three after 40 minutes.

The third period didn't get any better for Golden. Fernie scored three strait before the Rockets got their first and only goal of the night from Carson George.

A fight in the third period got Golden's Bryden Marsh and Fernie's Brendon Mangone tossed from the game.

Game two of the first round of playoffs between Golden and Fernie is tonight (Feb. 25) in Fernie at 7:30 p.m. The Canyon's Edge Restaurant will be streaming the game live for anyone who wants to come out and watch.
