Vera passed on at Zion Park Manor in Cloverdale British Columbia, May 4 2007.


Vera was born in Castledale, British Columbia, April 22 1919 to Mossum Morgan and Mabel (nee: Tomlinson) Morgan.

Vera led a varied and interesting life, including being widowed twice and raising two children as a single parent.


Later in life, Vera attended UBC to complete her teaching degree and taught Special Needs. After retiring from teaching, she became a certified ceramics instructor and opened a home business. An avid gardener, she became a Master Gardener that allowed her to share her knowledge with others. Painting in several mediums was a passion and she won several competitions. Vera enjoyed writing stories for the Newton Regency and Zion Park Manor newsletters. She always looked forward to a game of trivial pursuit and most often won.

Vera is survived by her son Wayne Fisher, daughter Wendy Friesen, grandchildren Warren Fisher, Carol Fisher, Vanessa Friesen, Melinda Friesen, great grandchildren Catherine Ferris and Tyler Schoelch.


Vera was at Zion Park Manor for seven years and made many friends among residents, staff and volunteers. She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
