Mr. Thomas William (Tom) Kelley passed away at the Golden & District General Hospital on Monday, January 25th, 2010 at the age of 75 years. A Memorial Service was held at the Golden Civic Centre on Friday afternoon, January 29th with Pastor Jeff Halldorson officiating Cremation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation or to the B.C. Heart & Stroke Foundation, in memory of Tom.

Tom was born in Oliver, B.C. on September 18, 1934 and had been a resident of Golden since 1960. He held various jobs during his working career including working in an industrial machine shop, working in sawmills, was a labourer with the building of the Rogers Pass, was a maintenance man in open quarry and underground mines as well as worked for 12 years in construction, ending his working days with the B.C. Government Department of Highways. Tom enjoyed woodworking, mechanics, hunting and fishing.

Tom was predeceased by his parents, three sisters: Alberta, Jane and June and one brother Robert. He is survived by his wife Doreen of Golden; three children: Brian (Lorraine) Kelley of Golden, Barbara (Doug) Wellington of Whitecourt, Alberta and Carol (Mark) Drake of Golden; seven grandchildren: Brianna, Travis, Matthew, Crystal, Desiree, David and Derek; one great granddaughter Nevaeh Drake, and one brother John (Annette) Kelley of Abbotsford.
