Tera Lee Jubinville

“She was an Angel who was with us for only a short time”

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, granddaughter, godchild, niece, cousin and friend, Tera Lee Jubinville.

Tera died on November 8th, 2006 in a car accident on the way home from Red Deer College.

Tera was born on January 27, 1988 in Golden where she lived with her devoted and loving mother, Karen Jubinville. She attended Alexander Park Elementary School, Golden Senior Secondary High School and Red Deer College. Tera loved sports and started figure skating at the age of two. Over the years, Tera attended Regionals on several occasions where she earned the right to attend Star Skate, a provincial wide competition. Tera won several awards, trophies, medals and accolades during her skating career. She had earned her Gold Dances, Gold Skills, Gold Interpretive and Part 1 of her Gold Freeskate. She also competed at the Pre-Novice Level. Through her love for skating, Tera was working on completing her Level 1 Coaching Certificate so that she could pass her passion and skill onto younger students. Tera played Golden Minor Soccer and coached the Youth Seven Soccer Team. She enjoyed going with her friends to watch the guys play hockey, a game that she learned to love from her mother, Karen.

Tera worked at McDonald’s for two and a half years and received the employee of the month award in December, 2004. She loved hanging out with and planning get-togethers with her friends. Tera loved to travel and never tired of it. She spent countless hours visiting family all over B.C. and Ontario and travelling to and from figure skating competitions. Tera loved the water and loved to go camping.

Most of all, she loved being at the Shuswap spending time with her mom, family and friends. Tera worked for the Town of Golden as a public skating supervisor and she was an amateur skating coach for seven years.

Tera was a beautiful woman inside and out. She was fun loving with a heart of gold and she was loved deeply by all who knew her.

Tera’s last written words were an inspiration to all her family and friends: “to reach for the stars; to fulfill your dream; to complete your goals by dedication, determination and persistence and you will achieve your heart’s desire.”
