ROBINSON, Melvin Fredrick was born at Golden, BC on September 30, 1949. Early in his life, he lived at Canoe, BC and went school there and in Salmon Arm. Like most kids did, he enjoyed playing baseball and swimming in the Shuswap Lake. But his mother stated that he would climb the trees and hide so he would not have to go to school. In his adult years, he lived at Sicamous and eventually ended up living back at Golden.

He was a member of the Operating Engineers and worked off and on for many years. He also worked at the Parson Sawmill for a few years. He was a standing member of the Metis Nation of British Columbia and had been a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Mel had many friends and was well liked by many. He was a very giving person.

Melvin was predeceased by his father, Buck Robinson; mother, Phyllis Robinson; brother, Ted Robinson; and niece, Emma Phyllis Robinson-Boland.

Melvin leaves his brother, Jack (Joan) Robinson; daughter, Cheryl; aunt, Bev Gudjonson and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Golden, BC on October 22nd.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mel may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
