John Ernest White

John Ernest White, the eldest son of Linette and John White, was born December 10th, 1928 in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

As a young man, he worked as a fishing guide in Minaki, Ontario often escorting celebrities of the time. Later on, he drove transports from one end of this country to the other employed by various freight companies always demanding employers “to open the trailers’ doors first to know how the load was placed”. After marrying the love of his life, Vivienne Joan and wanting to spend more time with his young family, he sought employment with Winnipeg/Manitoba Hydro, then moved onto West Kootenay Power and Light and finally retired with BC Hydro.

John passed away suddenly, but quietly, on the evening of February 14th. He was predeceased by his wife, brother Ronald Roy and sister Bernice “Bunny” Dunn. He is survived by his daughters Carolyn (Patrick) and Patricia (Ernest) and his granddaughter Richelle.

Cremation has taken place and a brief memorial will be held following the 10:30 morning worship (noon) Sunday, February 26th at Trinity Lutheran Church.
