Jesse Collins (nee Hunter)

It is with saddened hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Jessie Graeme Collins (nee Hunter) at the Moog and Friends Hospice House on November 26, 2012, at the age of 81. She is survived by her daughters, Gina (Dennis), Jennifer (Carl), Beverly (Mark) and son, Bill (Leah). Left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren; Katelyn, Mackenzie, Christopher and Megan as well as cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends. Graeme was predeceased by her husband, Charles, her sister Alice and close cousin, Allison. Graeme was born in Cranbrook, B.C. on September 22, 1931. Early in her life she was a stenographer for the Golden Mill. As she started her family with her husband Chuck she devoted her time to raising her children and volunteering with the Golden Kinette Club, Girl Guides of Canada and the Golden Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. She was always very active in her church in both Golden and OK Falls. Although she was challenged by the pain of arthritis most of her life she never complained nor let it stop her from enjoying life to the fullest. She was a devoted wife and caring mother who rose to every occasion with grace and concern for all those around her. A Celebration of Graeme’s life will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, December 28, 2012 at St. Barbara’s Anglican Church, Okanagan Falls. By request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Arthritis Society or the Moog and Friends Hospice House in Penticton.
