Jacques (Jim) McAllister

Jacques (Jim) McAllister

November 14 1938 – January 20 2009

Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend, Jim passed away on January 20 in Calgary after a short illness.

Jim, with his wife, Shirley (McAdam), and two sons, Ralph (Doreen) and Quint, moved to Golden in 1968 from Hemmingford, Quebec, and the family settled onto McAllister Road in the late 1970’s.

Jim came out here to work in the bush and did that until his retirement. Since retiring he has continued to fish and hunt whenever possible and as many know, took up downhill skiing when he was 52 so he could ski with his granddaughters. Jim spent most of the next 16 winters on the ski hill every day it was open and was rather miffed when his granddaughters, Traci and Jamie, started to beat him to the the lodge!

Jim is predeceased by his son, Quint.

Jim will be deeply missed by all (especially the pig salesman, “wanna buy a pig?”)
