Harold Earl “Hub” Henderson

Mr. Harold Earl “Hub” Henderson died suddenly in Golden, B.C. on Sunday, October 11, 2009 at the age of 74 years. A Memorial Service was held at the Golden Civic Center on Friday afternoon, October 16th with Pastor Joe Rioux officiating. Interment of the cremated remains will follow at a later date in the family plot of the Golden Community Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were Hub’s children and grandchildren: Darcy, Murray, Roan, Von, Ava and Anica. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Box 612, Golden, B.C.

Hub was born in Golden, B.C. on July 22, 1935 and had been a life-long resident of the community. He enjoyed all sports and was well known for the volunteer time he spent coaching kids in Little League, Minor Hockey and Junior Curling. Hub loved music and enjoyed his time spent in conversation with his family and friends. Family was very important to Hub and his grandchildren were the light of his life.

Hub was predeceased by his parents, parents-in-law, his brother Bruce and daughter Tammy. He is survived by his wife Baeda of Golden; two sons: Darcy of Edmonton and Murray (Cecile) of Calgary; four grandchildren: Roan, Von, Ava and Anica; siblings: Bill (Pearl) Henderson of Golden, Kay (Jock) Soles of Golden, Chick (Kaye) Henderson of Cranbrook, Louise Jackson of Golden and Maxine (Russ) Romano of Creston; sisters-in-law Jean Henderson of Salmon Arm and Margaret (Gordon) Murray of Edmonton; brother-in-law Walter (Carmen) Jacobson of Donald as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
