It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my dearly beloved husband, Fred Brown, May 27, 2010 at the Golden & District Hospital, Golden B.C., where he was carried away to a better place after succumbing to Melanoma lung cancer.

Fred was born in Wyndal B.C. February 19, 1932 to mother Jennie Platnikoff and father Louis Poskoski. Fred lived in several B.C. communities including Creston and Cranbrook before settling in Golden in 1967.

While in Golden, Fred was employed in the logging sector, prior to a near fatal accident, after which he became owner and operator of Glacier Janitor Service until his retirement.

Fred is survived by his wife of 57 years, Evelyn and their three children, Joanne Wilting, Pat Brown and Kevin Brown and seven grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank everyone for their wonderful caring and support during his time in Golden. They would also like to thank the staff at the Golden Hospital who took such great care of Fred during this very difficult time.

Fred will be dearly missed by his family and friends, but will remain forever in our hearts.
