Eileen was born in Blackwood, Gwent, South Wales, England on October 14, 1917. Her family immigrated to Canada in the spring of 1926, where they made their home in Busby, Alberta. In the spring of 1950, Eileen and husband George moved to Golden to start their own logging company. She remained in Golden until three years ago when she moved to Revelstoke to be closer to her daughters.

Eileen was a very kind, quiet person, who would help anyone, whatever their need be. She had a love of flowers and plants. She could get them to grow even if there was no dirt. Her deep faith in the church and her work in the Golden Catholic Women’s League was a great part of her life. Eileen never had any time for hobbies except for knitting.

She loved her work at the Golden & District General Hospital, where she worked for twenty-eight years, whether it was looking after new babies or an elderly person, she always cared about their well being.

Eileen was predeceased by her parents,

Henry & Annie Badman, husband George, brother Ivor, daughter-in-law Penny Ricard and four grandsons: Richard Cruch, Dean Cruch, Shane Ricard and Wayne Vignet. She is survived by her five children: Georgina (Jim) Gaetz of Revelstoke, Doris (Terry) Ferguson of Revelstoke, Henry Ricard of Golden, Jeannette Vignet of Prince George and Maurice (Linda) Ricard of Golden; ten grandchildren:
