Search and Rescue efforts continue for missing hiker in Yoho

A male from Calgary is believed to have been swept over the Twin Falls waterfall in Yoho National Park.

On September 13, 2015 at approximately 1:30 pm the Golden-Field RCMP were advised that an emergency SPOT beacon had been activated near Takkakaw Falls east of Field, BC. Police and Parks Canada search and rescue crews responded.

At this time police believe that a 19 year-old male from Calgary who was hiking was swept over the Twin Falls waterfall.

Parks Canada has conducted both aerial and ground searches for the male who had not yet been located. Search and Rescue efforts are expected to resume in the morning at first light.
